Chioggia's radicchio is a particular species of radicchio , which belongs to chicory group , also nationally famous for its properties and its good taste . Chioggia's radicchio, unlike that of Treviso , has a round shape , reminiscent of the rose ; hence rose of Chioggia .
Chioggia's radicchio has round and compact tuft, with red leaves varying intensity, with central and secondary white veins, pleasantly bitter flavor and crunchy texture .
In Veneto it's produced more than half of radicchio throughout Italy and Chioggia's radicchio is the first for cultivated land, production quantities and market presence.
